The human mind is an amazing tool that enables us to transform our lives in all sorts of ways.
But it has a dark side, the dark side of a human mind is that it's quick to criticize us blame us, judges find fault with us and put us down.
Here's a little exercise to help you unhook from those unhelpful thought processes to take the power out of them. Take the sting out of them.
It's called thanking your mind.
Whatever your mind says to you, no matter how mean or nasty or hurtful it is, just with a sense of humor and a sense of playfulness, you reply. Thanks, mind. Thanks for sharing.
So your mind says you're an idiot. You are such a loser. Thanks, mind. Thanks for sharing your you're still thanks, mind. If you think you're a loser, you Okay, well, look, thank you mind, thanks for sharing.
And I'm not gonna debate it with my mind, right? As I'm more interested in doing this stuff over here.
So I'm just gonna let my mind prep one. And I'm going to put my attention and energy into doing the stuff that matters.
So I really invite you to kind of take this technique away and play around with it, have some fun with it, do it with warmth, do it with playfulness, or whatever your mind says to you, no matter how many nasty provocative or hurtful it is just senseless to redirect your energy and your attention into something more life enhancing than getting caught up in your thoughts.
